Featured speaker Dr. Bahattin Buyuksahin heads research on commodity markets as the policy advisor for the Bank of Canada. He has more than eight years’ experience in financial oil and energy markets covering the spectrum of energy derivatives markets, the impact of financial market participants on energy price formation and volatility, and the effects of the evolving regulatory framework.

He is a colleague of Dr. Naomi Boyd, chair of the Dept. of Economics, WVU College of Business & Economics, who helped organize the fall forum.

The gathering will include an update about WVU shale gas activities. A mixer with posters will follow the formal comments.
