Morgantown, W.Va. – A recent Microsoft update can cause performance issues with Word and Outlook 2013 on Windows machines. Affected computers may periodically freeze or operate with extreme slowness when using these programs. Although Microsoft stopped distributing this update, some University-owned computers received it, so some faculty and staff could be experiencing problems. Information Technology Services has provided simple instructions on how to check for this update and remove it here: https://wvu.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/KB/ArticleDet?ID=11231. Users who need additional assistance also can contact the ITS Service Desk at 3-4444 or the Statler College IT helpdesk at 3-0090.
