Morgantown, W.Va. — As Governor Tomblin and our legislators continue to work in Charleston, we remain hopeful that a resolution will be found by July 1. West Virginia University will continue to meet and work with our partners at the Capitol. We know they are concerned about the future of West Virginia, as well as the future of higher education and the impact it has on our citizens and our state. We believe they will make the critical and necessary decisions to move our state forward. However, I understand the concerns raised by many should a budget not be in place by July 1. Please know that West Virginia University is working with State leaders on identifying contingency plans and understanding the ramifications to our faculty, staff, and students if a budget is not in place by July 1.
