Morgantown, W.Va. — The research administration tool WVU+kc (Kuali Coeus) will have a new look and feel starting Saturday, June 11. Upon logging in, users will see a new dashboard with four main sections that will make it easier to find their associated proposals, awards and IRB (Institutional Review Board) protocols.

A new menu bar will provide easy access to actions, searches and reports, as well as direct links to resources such as the conflict of interest form, IRB forms and samples, and the Office of Sponsored Programs website.

A new News Feed section will replace the current Action List and will prominently feature alerts for actions that require your attention, such as a request to approve a proposal or an alert that an IRB protocol is about to expire.

The new Last Activity section includes links to your last five actions within WVU+kc.

Finally, a new Lists section will display numerous pre-populated searches, letting you easily identify your research activity by module and status, including proposals that you are working on, IRB protocols that have been submitted for review, and Green Sheets for all of your award actions.

When Information Technology Services conducted focus groups in May, 85 percent of participants indicated the new user dashboard would make it easier to find their research activity. The functionality of the Lists section, in particular, “will really make it easier for users of all skill levels to find and identify the projects they need to work on,” one participant said. “Plus, the News Feed section will be great for PIs!”

The new dashboard is largely intuitive; however, if you need assistance identifying a particular action or document, you can refer to the New WVU+kc Dashboard quick reference guide or contact the ITS Service Desk at 304-293-4444, ITSHelp@mail.wvu.edu or it.wvu.edu/help.
